Box Score 2 HAYWARD – After a journey across the bay Saturday, the Cal State Dominguez Hills and No. 17 San Francisco State baseball teams split two, 9-inning matchups on the campus of their sister school Cal State East Bay.
The Gators took the series opener 5-2 while the Toros held on to win the evening game 5-4.
The two teams had to relocate to Hayward after rain on Friday drenched Maloney Field in San Francisco.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- The Toros' only lead in the game was in the third inning. Trailing 1-0 since the first,
Grant Decatrel led off with a double down the left field line and scored on Gomez's RBI single. After two throwing errors put Gomez at third,
Jose Jimenez hit a sacrifice fly to score in the second run.
- The lead didn't last long as the Gators responded with three runs of their own in the inning. One of those runs was eventually unearned due to a throwing error.
- Garnett made it through five innings throwing 117 pitches.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- Tied at four in the eighth, the Toros capitalized on an opportunity to drive in the go-ahead run. Canepa singled to right and advanced to third on Ciolek's base hit to center. Colacchio hit his second sacrifice fly in the game to center to break the tie.
- Dominguez Hills had to rebound from a 4-2 deficit after the fourth inning. The fifth-inning rally began with
Jake Ryan belting a leadoff home run to left field. With two outs, Loska singled to short and a double to center field by Canepa brought in the tying run from first.

Ricardo Serrano picked up the win after throwing 2.1 innings of relief, striking out three along the way.
Spencer Hereford also had 2.1 shutout innings of work from the bullpen.
