Guillermo Saldana had the first and last score of the game as the Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer team defeated Azusa Pacific by a score of 4-3 in overtime, Saturday at Toro Stadium.
Saldana earned the golden goal all on his own. He intercepted a pass, dribbled all the way down the right side and kicked the ball into the lower left corner. APU goalie Brendan Fix did get a small piece of Saldana's shot, but it was not enough as the Toros walked away with the win.

The win gives CSUDHÂ a 2-0 record on the young season. The Cougars drop to 0-2.

CSUDH outshot APU 29-13, including 12-7 on shots on goal. The Toros had 10 corner kicks to the Cougars six. CSUDH goalie
Benito Gonzales had four saves, while Fix amassed seven stops.

The Toros raced out to a 2-0 lead. In the 17th minute Saldana got the ball with his back to the net, turned around and found the lower left corner of the goal for the score.
In the 44th minute a free kick from
Frankie Hession-Harris was placed perfectly for
Carlos Escobedo as he headed in the second goal of the game.
The Cougars answered back right before halftime. With 39 seconds remaining in the first half, APU's Kaleb Armbrust kicked a perfect through ball to David Kwinn. Kwinn broke away, caught the CSUDH defenders by surprise and was able to beat Gonzales one-on-one. The Toros led 2-1 at halftime.

The Cougars evened the score in the 60th minute. After one shot was saved by Gonzales, APU's Zach McCollum was able to barely get a header across the line.

Joe Flanagan's substitution immediately paid off for CSUDH in the 66th minute.
Juan Hernandez who had just checked in scored to give the Toros a 3-2 lead. CSUDH looked to have the game in the bag, but in the 87th minute, APU's Callum Wallace tied the game with a shot that hit the crossbar and in for the score.

CSUDH will continue the home stand, facing Northwest Nazarene on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m.
