CARSON -- Looking to ride momentum from last night's straight-set win over host Point Loma, the Cal State Dominguez Hills volleyball team ran into a brick wall donned in blue, yellow and white, and the result was a straight-set sweep at the hands of perennial power Cal Baptist as day two of the Seaside Invite commenced. Saginaw Valley State followed suit in the late match, also downing the Toros in straights.

The Toros finish the Seaside Invitational with a 1-3 mark, and will open its home schedule on Thursday, September 8, as one host in the D2 West Region Volleyball Showcase, hosting Hawai'i Hilo in a 7 pm match-up.

Tati Yandall was the lone bright spot on the day as the redshirt freshman led the team with five kills against the Lancers and was the only Toro to hit in the positive as CBU limited CSUDH to a -0.122 hitting percentage while connecting at a .338 clip in the sweep.

The Lancers outplayed the cardinal and gold in nearly every facet of the match, tallying 29 more kills, seven less attack errors, 30 more assists, three more service aces, 18 more digs and 4.0 more blocks in the convincing sweep.

In the late match, the Toros were more competitive, but six more attack errors, three more service errors and five less services aces proved too difficult to overcome.

Yandall connected for 12 kills to tie for match-high honors, while Cathryn Lopez and Antonette Rolda each saved 10 balls to tie for team-high totals.

Saginaw Valley utilized its size to outblock CSUDH 8.0 to 3.0, with Yandall earning two stuffs on the afternoon.
