Women's Basketball Preview: Dawn of a New Day

CARSON -- Newly appointed Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball interim head coach John Bonner is a realist. Inheriting a three-time defending California Collegiate Athletic Association championship program, Bonner welcomes only three returners from that team, but just one who was a significant contributor in reigning CCAA Newcomer of the Year and first-team All-CCAA selection Imari Brown.

Adding eight newcomers to the mix for a total of 11 players, Bonner realizes a four-peat will be hard to come by considering the talent that lies within the CCAA Conference, but does expect his squad to compete, and compete hard.

Coming off a one-point exhibition win at Biola University before competing in its penultimate exhibition at Whittier College last week, Bonner and top assistant Jaleesa Ross are looking to utilize the team's quickness and rebounding prowess, and turn that coupling into a winning combination.
