Talia Rayford Earns 2nd CCAA Player of the Week Award

WALNUT CREEK -- Senior guard/forward Talia Rayford was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week for the week of January 26 - February 1, it was announced this morning by the CCAA Office.

Rayford's first CCAA POW came a month ago after leading the Toros to a sweep over the Bays.

The Inglewood native led CSUDH to wins at CS Stanislaus and Chico State en route to securing sole possession of second place in the CCAA standings behind league-leader Humboldt State, which visits the Torodome for a Saturday showdown at 5:30 pm.

Rayford averaged 15.5 points and 13 rebounds a game, going for a 13-point, 12-rebound effort in the blowout win over the Warriors, before tallying an 18-point, 14-board statline in a 5-point win over the Wildcats that wasn't as close as the final score indicated.

The guard/forward also added 8 assists, 5 steals and a pair of blocks in the weekend sweep.

CSUDH hosts CS San Bernardino on Friday night at 5:30 pm, before the Lumberjacks bring their league lead into the Torodome on Saturday.
