SEATTLE -- After using Tuesday night to travel to the Pacific Northwest, Cal State Dominguez Hills will make the final preparations on the campus of Seattle Pacific for the opening round of the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship against Fresno Pacific Thursday at 3 p.m. The winner will advance to meet the host Falcons Saturday.

• Cal State Dominguez Hills is making its 13th appearance in the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship and its first since 2011.Â
• The Toros are 16-8-2 (.654) in the NCAA postseason, 16-7-2 under 22-year head coach Joe Flanagan. Their first NCAA tournament appearance was in 1982.
• In the Toros last NCAA appearance, they lost to Seattle Pacific 2-1.
• The last CSUDH win in the NCAA tournament was in 2009, when it defeated Cal State L.A. 1-0 in the second round.

• The Toros had won their first CCAA regular-season championship since 2009.Â
• CSUDH has losses to its column at the start and end of the regular season.
• The Toros went on a 16-match unbeaten streak, the longest run since the 2008 national championship team.

• Joe Flanagan earned his fifth CCAA Coach of the Year award and his first in a decade.

CSUDH vs Fresno Pacific
• Fresno Pacific completed its four-year transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II and is now a full member, marking the first time in the Sunbirds and Toros competing in NCAA play.
• The two teams met last season while the Sunbirds were a provisional member. FPU rallied from a two-goal deficit and got the go-ahead in the 86th minute on an own goal to edge the Toros 4-3 in Fresno.
• Among returners, Andrew Johnson had both a goal and an assist in the match, Tony Alfaro also scored.
A New Playing Atmosphere
• While the Toros are making their second trip to the Pacific Northwest, they return now having to play under wet and cold conditions.
• The forecast at the time of kickoff has it below 50 degrees and 60 percent chance of rain, marking the first time this season the Toros will play under both those conditions.
