EDMOND, Ok. -- Nearly 30 years after earning All-America status for the Cal State Dominguez Hills golf team, Pat Burke again is set to make a name for himself after qualifying for the 2014 U.S. Senior Open, taking place from July 9-13 at Oak Tree National in Edmond, Oklahoma.

A total of 156 professionals and amateurs will compete in a field that includes former US Senior Open Champions in Olin Browne, Brad Bryant, Roger Chapman, Dave Eichelberger, Fred Funk, Hale Irwin, Peter Jacobsen, Bernhard Langer, Larry Laoretti and Kenny Perry, as well as professional golf notables in Mark Calcavecchia, Fred Couples, Steve Elkington, Tom Kite, Gary Koch, Tom Lehman, Rocco Mediate, Colin Montgomerie, Mark O'Meara, Corey Pavin, Vijay Singh, Hal Sutton, Scott Verplank, Duffy Waldorf and Mark Wiebe.

Burke earned a 2nd-team All-America honor in 1985, and was the second CSUDH men's golfer to do so following Scott MacDonald, who earned consecutive Honorable All-America honors in 1983 and 1984.

Burke and his fellow All-Americans from all Toro sports were honored at the All-America Wall of Honor Unveiling ceremony that took place on January 12, 2011, with the All-American wall residing in the Torodome lobby.

More than 120,000 spectators are expected to attend the 72 hole stroke play event in which the field will be cut to low 60 and ties following the completion of the second round.  The Senior Open will be contested on the highly-ranked Oak Tree National course designed by Pete Dye, and is the 2nd USGA Championship staged at Oak Tree.

The first two rounds (July 10-11) will be broadcast on ESPN2, with the third and final rounds (July 12-13) shown on NBC.
