PORTLAND, Ore. -- Sophomore Monay Lee was named a 2nd-team Daktronics All-Region selection, it was announced this morning.  This is Lee's first career All-Region nod, and follows a 1st-team All-CCAA honor earned earlier this month.

Named the CCAA Tournament Most Valuable Player after leading the Toros to the CCAA Tournament Title, the program's fourth CCAA crown, and the No. 4 seed in the NCAA West Regional that begins tomorrow, Lee finished the regular season 6th in the league in scoring and 12th in rebounds, also leading the Toros in scoring, sitting 2nd in assists and 3rd in boards.

The Huntington Beach native boasts a pair of 30+ point performances as part of 19 games with at least 10 points, including high of 34 on the road at CS Monterey Bay.  Also, she has pulled down at least 10 boards in 6 games, including season-high 13 also in Seaside.

Cal Poly Pomona's Jada Blackwell was named the West Region Player of the Year as just four CCAA players were named to All-Region teams, with CPP's Ariel March and Chico State's Courtney Hamilton joining Lee on the second team.

The D2SIDA All-America women's basketball team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The teams are voted on by the members of D2SIDA, NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association.

The No. 4 seeded Toros face No. 5 seeded Chico State Wildcats tomorrow at 5 pm in Kellogg Gym, on the campus of Cal Poly Pomona, which earned the top seed for the regional.  The match-up will be a rematch of the CCAA semifinal in which CSUDH clawed back from a 15-point deficit in the second half en route to the 64-52 win.
