Chico State Defense Stifles Toros in 3-0 Decision

CHICO -- The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer ran into staunch Chico State defense, and the result was a 3-0 Wildcat win in which the Toros managed just three shots on the day.

With the loss, CSUDH drops to 5-8-2, 4-7-2 CCAA.

Chico State outshot the Toros 11-3 on the afternoon, including 6-1 on frame that forced keeper Jennifer Ackerly to made three saves.

A goal in the 24th minute by Carly Singer opened the scoring, with a pair of goals in the second half - in the 48th and 61st minutes - giving the Cats a pair of insurance goals in the win.

Seniors Melanie DeSalvo (pictured), and Olivia Patterson were joined by Katelyn Fregosi as the lone Toros who took a shot.

CSUDH returns to southern California on Sunday for league action, traveling to CS San Bernardino for a 2 pm first kick.
