Eishoei Nets Golden Goal in 2-1 Double OT Win Over San Francisco State

Ani Eishoei proved golden in today's 2OT win
Box Score
CARSON -- Senior Ani Eishoei came up huge when the Toros needed her most, getting herself in position to collect an Olivia Patterson cross before sending it past San Francisco State keeper Annicia Jones for the golden goal in a thrilling 2-1 double overtime win over a game Gator squad.

With the win, CSUDH snaps a 7-game winless streak to improve to 3-6-2, 2-6-1 CCAA.  SFSU, meanwhile, falls to 4-6, 2-6 CCAA.

Junior Claudia Toledo came out on fire to start the game, taking 3 shots, with her first going wide and the next high.

The one, in between, however, proved crucial to the Toros as Toledo collected a through ball with nothing between her and the goal but SFSU keeper Jones.

On her way to the score, a SFSU defender tripped Toledo in the Gator box, resulting in a penalty kick attempt.

On the attempt, Toledo notched her fourth goal of the year, beating the SFSU keeper to her left at 17:55.

It took until the second half for the Gators to score as a Toro turnover near midfield proved costly.

After Michelle Kay collected to first touch, she sent a cross to a sprinting Nicole Vanni, whose one-timer chipped off CSUDH keeper Tiffany Hollis' hands, and into the empty net at the 82:52 mark for the equalizer.

The best chance for either team in the first OT came with time winding down as Eishoei collected a long pass and sent a cross into the goalmouth, where the ball scooted through the point where Niki Poole and Jones met simultaneously, sending the game into the second extra period.

It didn't take long for Eishoei to make her presence felt in the second period as Patterson's perfect feed led the senior to the score.

Hollis finished with 6 saves while her counterpart made 3, all of the acrobatic nature.

The Toros will look to run their win streak to two as Cal Poly Pomona visits Carson on Sunday, with first kick set for 11:30 am.
