Indovina Nabs Runner-Up Finish to Lead Toros to 11th Place at Hanny Stanislaus Invitational

TURLOCK -- Shooting a 70 at two-under par in all three rounds of the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational, Ryan Indovina paced the Toros to an 11th place finish with a final score of 210, six-under par and his personal lowest finish in an invitational to date.

Indovina came in 12-strokes behind the leader, Gene Webster Jr. of Cal State San Bernardino, to card his best tournament finish to date as a Toro, previously a 213 set in three rounds at CSUSB's Coyote Invitational.

This also marks the first time that Indovina has scored under par in each of his three rounds of competition in a tournament.

Not alone in the spotlight, Indovina was only one stroke ahead of another Toro, Cavin McCall whom after entering the clubhouse in day one with two 69 finishes came back in round three with a 73 to finish five-under par for third place.

Invitational Medalist Webster improved his third round to a 63-finish to card a three round total of 198, both of which are new tournament records.

Rounding out the quintet of Toro golfers, Robby Mayes finished 75th (85-79-81-242), Keith Johnson at 79th (82-79-81-242) and Kenny Roberts ringing in at 81st (85-78-81-244).

As a team the Toros came in 38-over at 902, with top team co-honors going to both CSUSB and host Cal State Stanislaus with a seven-over 871.

The Toros resume play in one week as they take on the CCAA's best in the CCAA Golf Championships at Hunter Ranch Golf Course in Paso Robles on April 19-20.
