Ryan Indovina's Runner-Up Finish Leads Toros to 5th-Place at 60th Annual SoCal Intercollegiate

MISSION VIEJO -- Junior Ryan Indovina finished the third and final round of the 60th Annual SoCal Intercollegiate where he left off after yesterday's two rounds, posting a runner-up finish just two strokes off the individual leader to help the Toros to an overall 5th-place finish at the Mission Viejo Country Club.

After tying for the first round's lowest score with a par 71, Indovina followed that with a 74 in the second round, and a 77 this morning to give him a 222 overall, just two strokes behind the individual champion Collin Mayer of St. Edwards, who led wire-to-wire, and two strokes ahead of Post University's David McGregor and three ahead of Sonoma State's Janssen Todd, the next closest CCAA golfer who tied for 4th with St. Edward's Matthew Hatcher.

Senior Kenny Roberts was the next closest Toro as he finished 17th (75-81-80-236), with Cavin McCall (T18th, 80-79-79-238), Robby Mayes (39th, 82-82-84-248) and Shaun Engle (51st, 84-92-85-261).

With its team tally of 919, Sonoma State claimed the overall team title despite seeing its lead shrink from 16 to 10 shots
after this morning's action, with St. Edward's (929), CS San Bernardino (936) and Washburn University (942) just ahead of the Toros' 944.

The Toros resume play in two weeks at the Hanny Stanislaus Invite on April 12-13, hosted by CS Stanislaus in Turlock, California.
