Dr. Mildred García Honors Men's Soccer National Champions

Carson, CA -- Still riding the wave of success following its NCAA National Championship Title, the Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer team was honored for its achievement and representation of the University by CSUDH President Dr. Mildred García and other members of the Toros administration at a dinner ceremony Tuesday night.

Speaking not only of the game in which she and Vice President for Enrollment & Planning Dr. Sue Borrego attended in Tampa, García honored the team as a point of pride for CSUDH and the local community itself.

The men's soccer team also was gracious as they presented Garcia with a signed championship game ball in recognition of what she and her staff have done to push the men's soccer team to the title.

Also speaking on the night was CSUDH Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. Boice Bowman, Director of Athletics Patrick Guillen and head coach Joe Flanagan.

The ceremony, which was held in the campus's Loker Student Union, was also a time for the student-athletes' parents and significant others to come together and share in the team's success.
