Carson, CA -- After honoring their seven seniors in a pre-game ceremony, it was junior defender and sometimes midfielder Kevin Gallaugher who scored two unanswered goals in the game's final 15 minutes to give the Toros a 5-3 win over visiting Cal State San Marcos, bringing CSUDH to 15-2-1 on the year.

After senior Kyle Holland exhibited his flair for the dramatic with a bicycle kick goal to open the scoring 3:48 into the contest, fellow senior Irwin Salas's score of a Diego Turoldo feed in the 22nd minute looked to send the Toros on their way to an easy victory.

The Cougars had other ideas, however, as Curtis Marcikic cut CSUDH's lead in half after collecting a loose ball and beating Toro keeper Justin Commins, only the second goal allowed by Commins all year.

CSUSM's Chris Dunckel didn't wait long to tie the score, heading in his goal with one second left before halftime, also resulting in a red card for Toro Jordan Rover for language, putting the Toros a man down the remainder of the game.

The disadvantage fired up the Toro offense as Mario Guerrero needed just 37 seconds into the second period to regain the lead for CSUDH after one-touching his shot for the score.

The visitors, however, knotted the game again in the 57th minute on another header past CSUDH's second keeper of the game Miguel Benitez, this time by Jordan Shadeed.

Gallaugher then took over, converting a penalty kick in the 75th minute to give CSUDH a 4-3 lead, and then collecting a loose ball deep in the Cougar box after a Toro corner and putting away the sitter to account for the final tally.

The Toros, who outshot the Cougars 21-13 and also tallied 7 corners to CSUSM's 3, bade farwell to seven seniors in Holland, Salas, Commins, Benitez, Chris StonerockAlberto Garcia and Carmelo Terranova in a pregame ceremony.

CSUDH, which won its fourth-straight and eighth of last nine, conclude their regular season on the road next weekend at Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino, before heading to the CCAA Tournament on November 7, hosted by UC San Diego.
