ALISO VIEJO, Calif. -- Following the conclusion of the 2026 regular season, the Cal State Dominguez Hills softball team has earned the No. 4 seed in this week's CCAA Tournament, and will face No. 5 seed Cal State Monterey Bay in an elimination game on Wednesday, May 6, at 2 pm.
Top-seeded Cal State San Marcos, No. 2 seed Cal State East Bay and No. 3 seed Cal Poly Humboldt all earned a first-round bye, and will kick off their foray into the postseason on Thursday.
The Toros missed securing a bye by .02 of a percentage point, with their winning percentage of .531 trailing Cal Poly Humboldt's .533 winning percentage.
CSUDH and CSUMB faced off in the regular season, splitting their four contests when the Otters were ranked No. 20 in the nation.
The Toros scored 17 runs compared to 28 for the Otters, with
Ashley Ogata and
Audrey Gallegos each earning a win in the circle.
Offensively,
Torie Au led the charge, going 4-for-5 with five RBI and a run scored in the two wins, aided by
Savanna Kastigar's 3-for-6, four, RBI, one run effort,
Marisa Dominguez's three RBI and two runs scored, and
Ashley Goodale's 2-for-6, four run and one RBI effort.
