Toros Send Seniors Off With Comeback Win to Conclude 2026 Season

CARSON -- Facing a five-run deficit with just three innings left in Cal State Dominguez Hills' final game of the regular season, the Toros rallied with six runs over the next two innings to send their lucky 13 seniors out with a come-from-behind 6-5 win over visiting Cal State San Bernardino.

The Toros finish the 2026 campaign with a 21-24 overall record and 13-19 ledger in the CCAA, good for an 8th-place tie in league play.

Down 5-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning after allowing a single run to the Yotes in the third inning and four in the fifth while managing just two hits themselves, the Toros exploded for five runs in the frame, starting with a one-out walk to Tristan Usher.

Two singles followed to load the bases before Dominick Cervantes spoiled the shutout with a sacrifice fly, with Julio Camarena stroking an RBI single to the right side to keep the rally going.

Christian Smith then drew a walk to load the bases, prompting a Yote pitching change.

That did little to quell the rally as Zac Ragland singled on an 0-2 count, bringing in all three runners after a Yote throwing error to knot the game at 5-5.

One inning later, CSUDH generated a two-out rally for another run, proving to be the game-winner.

Brett Castillo earned his first win of the year with an inning of work, while Julian Castro picked up his sixth save with a clean ninth.

Ragland and Cervantes drove in two runs each, with Cervantes boasting a pair of hits in his last game as a Toro.

Prior to the game, the Toros honored Eric Arreola, Camarena, Castillo, Cervantes, Chris Cornelius, Trysten Eddy, Jake Estrada, Quinn Johnson, Jesse Moore, Tyler Ohlson, Smith, Aiden Taylor, and Jordan Townley for their career contributions.
