CARSON, Calif. – Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer opened its 2025 campaign with a 1-0 win over Vanguard on Thursday night at Toro Stadium.
Senior defender Diego Barahona delivered the game-winner in the 78th minute, scoring on a penalty kick to give the Toros (1-0-0) the season-opening victory.
Dominguez Hills dictated play throughout, finishing with a 65% possession advantage, a 5-2 edge in shots, and a 6-4 margin in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Keegan O'Brien recorded the shutout with one save as the Toro defense limited the Lions to just two attempts on goal.
The Toros will be back in action this Saturday, Sept. 06, when they travel to face Concordia University Irvine.
