SEATTLE, Wash. — Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball tipped off the 2025–26 season on the road Friday night, showing flashes of promise in a hard-fought 68–46 contest against Western Washington inside Brougham Pavilion.
Guard Kylee Edgar led the way for the Toros with 13 points, five rebounds, and a pair of steals, setting the tone with confident shot-making and defensive energy. Bryanne Lopez-Wood added six points and a team-high four assists, while Anela Thomas and Zanna Hurst each chipped in five points apiece, including a pair of three-pointers to spark the CSUDH offense.
The Toros showcased balance across the roster, with 11 players seeing action and combining for 29 rebounds and nine steals. Camryn Washington provided a spark off the bench with three points and steady free-throw shooting, and Jada Sanders pulled down multiple boards to help fuel second-chance opportunities.
Despite a tough shooting night, CSUDH competed from start to finish, forcing 13 Western Washington turnovers.
The Toros (0–1) continue their season-opening trip in the Pacific Northwest with a matchup against Seattle Pacific on Saturday evening.
