CARSON, Calif. — Cal State Dominguez Hills came out on top in a hard-fought 2–1 victory over UC Merced on Friday night at Dignity Health Sports Park.
After trailing 1–0 early in the second half, the Toros (4-5-1) responded with two unanswered goals to secure the win. Sophomore Alexis Delgado netted the equalizer in the 63rd minute, her first goal of the season, before Kaylee Leavitt delivered the game-winner in the 78th minute to complete the comeback.
Defensively, Audrey Haman turned in a standout performance in goal, recording seven saves to preserve the lead. Cynthia Ramirez paced the Toro attack with five shots, while Isabella Ramirez and Delgado each added two shots on frame as Dominguez Hills outshot the Bobcats 11–9.
The victory gives the Toros momentum heading into senior day this Sunday vs Cal State Monterey Bay at 11:30 AM at Toro Stadium.
