CARSON – The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros fell to Cal Poly Pomona in straight sets, losing 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-12).
 
The Toros (7-7; 1-2 CCAA) were led by Ava Hurry and junior Fallon Freeman, who each recorded six kills. Aleya Starnes added four kills to round out the attack. Setter Bailey Fuches posted a team-high 14 assists and contributed defensively with 11 digs, while Hurry also chipped in 10 digs and 1 service ace.
 
Defensively, Camryn Perdue led the effort at the net with three blocks, while Kayly Pau added two blocks and Hurry contributed one block. The Toros struggled offensively, finishing with a .038 hitting percentage, recording 22 kills and 18 errors on 105 attempts.
 
In the first set, the Toros kept the score close, hitting .209 with 10 kills. However, Cal Poly Pomona (9-1; 3-0 CCAA) pulled away late to take the set 25-18. The Broncos claimed the second set, hitting .542 while holding the Toros to a .103 hitting percentage, winning 25-11. The Broncos went on to claim the third and final set to take the victory.
 
The Toros return to the Torodome tomorrow, Saturday, September 28^th at 3pm as they take on Cal State San Marcos.
