CARSON, Calif. – Cal State Dominguez Hills dropped a competitive match to Cal State Monterey Bay, falling in four sets (21-25, 25-23, 16-25, 21-25) in CCAA play on Friday night at the Torodome.
The Toros were led offensively by senior
Ava Hurry, who tallied 15 kills on 41 attempts, hitting .195. Setter
Bailey Fuches distributed 17 assists and added a kill, block, and an ace to her stat line.
Camryn Perdue provided efficient offense with 8 kills on 18 swings, hitting .333, and
Nina Robles anchored the defense with 13 digs and 3 service aces.
Cal State Dominguez Hills took the second set 25-23, fueled by a strong .070 hitting percentage and 13 kills. In a closely contested fourth set, the Toros rallied but ultimately fell 25-21.
Kayly Pau added depth with 3 blocks, while
Grace Ford and
Aleya Starnes contributed a combined 3 blocks at the net.
The Toros will look to regroup as they will take on the Cal State East Bay Pioneers tomorrow, November 2nd at 5pm
