Toros Fall On The Road Against Point Loma

CARSON — The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros faced a challenging opponent in the Point Loma Sea Lions, ultimately succumbing to a 5-0 defeat.
 
The Toros showcased their resolve, with midfielders Lauryn Bailey and Cynthia Ramirez, alongside forward Isabella Ramirez, pushing the boundaries and fighting to create opportunities. Lauryn Bailey displayed tenacity, leading the attempts with two shots, one on goal, over 76 minutes on the field. Goalkeeper Abigail Escalante remained a constant sentinel for the team, guarding the goalposts for the entire 90 minutes, enduring the relentless offensive from Point Loma tallying 6 saves on the game.
 
Despite the relentless effort from the Toros, particularly from defenders Azalia Salazar and Anahi Corrales and forwards Alyssa Villalobos and Christine Duarte, the seamless defensive array of Point Loma remained impenetrable, stifling any potential breakthroughs.
 
The Toros next match is on Friday, September 29th at the Toro Stadium when they open the CCAA regular season against Cal State Monterey Bay with kickoff set at 4:30pm.
