Box Score CARSON -- Undefeated in CCAA play after two weekends of play, Cal State Dominguez Hills was knocked from the ranks of the league's unbeaten after visiting Stanislaus State took game one of the four-game set by a 10-3 count.
Matt Mecate brought home two of CSUDH's three runs in the loss.
The Warriors scored five runs in their first four at-bats before the hosts scraped one across in the 4th inning. In that frame,
Anthony Accordino began with a double down the left field line, and was moved to third on a single by
Emilio Barrera. Mecate then drove home the run with a ground out to second base to make it 5-1.
Stan State, however, got that run back and then some with five in the 5th to put the game away.
The Toros mounted a rally in the 8th that began with an
Aaron Greenfield homer on the first pitch he saw, with Mecate plating CSUDH's third run on a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded.
The two teams play two tomorrow, with first pitch of game one set for a 12 noon start on Toro Field.
