La Mirada, Calif. – The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros delivered a thrilling performance in their victory against the Biola University Eagles, finishing with a close 80-78 win.
The Toros set the pace early in the game, controlling the first half with a 37-33 lead. In the second half the Eagles attempted to steal the game, upping their second half points to 45. However, the Toros maintained their lead, adding 43 points to their tally. The consistency in their play ensured they gave themselves a chance to end it throughout the game and sealed their fourth victory of the season, 80-78.
Jeremy Dent-Smith led the way with added 26 points, and a perfect 3-3 from the free throw line. His five assists and four rebounds helped steady the Toro team and elevate them to victory.
Jakob Alamudun notched 13 points. He shot efficiently from the free throw line, going 7-10 Alamudun also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out three assists, and three steals.
Andre Ball contributed significantly, scoring 14 points and inhaling seven rebounds. His perfect 2-2 from the free throw line showcased his improved game.
Other notable contributors included Jayden Winfrey and DJ Guest, who added five and two rebounds respectively. Winfrey's rebounding from the guard spot, and Guest's two assists and one steal, were critical to the Toros' well-rounded team performance.
The Toros next game is on Thursday, November 30th as they take on the Sonoma State Seawolves at 7:30 p.m. at Sonoma.
