TURLOCK, Calif. – The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros faced a tough opponent in the Stanislaus State Warriors, falling in straight sets in their latest volleyball match with set scores of 19-25, 19-25, and 20-25.
Ava Hurry led the Toros offensively with 14 kills on a .209 hitting percentage. Her performance was a bright spot for the team.
Orchestrated the offense was
Bailey Fuches, with 21 assists and added four kills, though she faced challenges in her attacking efficiency. Fuches also contributed significantly on defense with 16 digs, showing her versatility and commitment on the court.
Nina Robles, stood out with her serving as she delivered three service aces. Robles also led the team in digs with 17, reflecting her critical role in the Toros' defensive setup.
Teagan Irish contributed with four kills and a .300 hitting percentage, along with two block assists.
Other contributors included
Jesi Diekmann and
Camila Sanchez-Tellez, who added two and three kills respectively.
Kayly Pau added five kills to the Toros' effort.
The Toros close the 2023 season with the best overall record (10-15 overall, 5-13 CCAA) since 2019 (14-10 overall, 7-10 CCAA).
