Ball Scores 14 In Toros Loss To Vikings

ARCATA, Calif. – The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros faced a challenging West Region Crossover matchup against the Western Washington Vikings, ultimately falling 58-81.

The Toros struggled in the opening half, trailing significantly with a score of 21-45. Western Washington's aggressive offense and tight defense put the Toros under pressure, making it difficult for them to find their rhythm on the court.

In the second half, the Toros showed a renewed energy and managed to outscore their opponents, scoring 37 points to the Viking's 36. This improvement highlighted the team's resilience and ability to adapt under challenging circumstances. Despite this effort, the deficit from the first half proved too significant to overcome as the Toros fell to the Vikings, 58-81.

Andre Ball led the Toros in scoring, as he connected for 14 points. He shot efficiently from the field, making 5 of 9 attempts, and was also successful at the free-throw line, hitting 4 out of 5. Ball also contributed with four rebounds, showing his all-around impact on the game.

Another key contributor for the Toros was Jeremy Dent-Smith. Coming off the bench, Dent-Smith scored 10 points, grabbed five rebounds, and added an assist and two steals to his stat line.

Jakob Alamudun tallied seven points and led the team in rebounds with six, including five defensive boards. Jordan Hilstock added five points and tied for the team-high in rebounds with six, showcasing his defensive skills with two steals.

Za-Ontay Boothman and DJ Guest contributed with four and six points, respectively. Guest also led the team with three assists.

The Toros continue play in the Western Region Crossover tomorrow November 11th as they take on the Simon Fraser Red Leafs at 5:30pm in Arcata.
