CARSON — The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros fell to the Cal State L.A Golden Eagles in straight sets.
The Golden Eagles won each set by scores of 13-25, 19-25, and 22-25. The Toros showed resilience, particularly in the third set, pushing their opponents closer to the edge, but couldn't overcome CSULA offense.
CSUDH showcased the skills of several standout players.
Bailey Fuches led the charge offensively with nine kills from 14 attempts, maintaining a .500 hit percentage. Fuches also contributed with six assists and secured six digs.
Evania Sanchez, the team's primary setter, facilitated the offense with 11 assists and contributed with four digs.
On the defensive front,
Ava Hurry had a solid performance, recording six kills, and
Shelby Saporetti provided additional support with a kill and four digs. The team also saw contributions from
Kilyn Hayes with three kills and
Teagan Irish with two kills.
The Toros have a rematch tomorrow Saturday, October 14th against Cal State LA in Los Angeles with first serve set for 3pm.
