Box Score CARSON --
Colten Kresl and
Andre Ball poured in 18 points apiece as the Cal State Dominguez Hills men's basketball team played one of its most complete games of the year in taking down Cal State Monterey Bay, 69-55, in a key late-season match-up between two teams that could see each other in the upcoming CCAA postseason tournament.
The Toros improve to 11-8 overall and 9-5 in the CCAA, while the Otters dip to 12-6 overall and 11-4 in league play, seeing their four-game win streak snapped in the process.
Currently in 5th place in the league standings, the Toros took it to the current 3rd place team in CSUMB, turning an early 7-6 lead into a 29-17 advantage at halftime.
After the Otters trimmed their deficit to single digits with 16:21 left in regulation, a Kresl jumper and
Hunter Seymour layup bookended a CSUMB bucket, keeping CSUDH's lead in double figures for nearly the entire second half.
A Ball jumper with 5:33 in the game pushed the Toro lead to 55-38, all but putting an exclamation point on tonight's huge win.
Ball pulled down a team-high nine boards, with Seymour and
Chris Seeley added eight each.  The Toro defense played a key role, limiting the Otters to under 30% shooting from the floor, while posting a +4 in steals.
The Toros host San Francisco State on Saturday night in the final home game of the regular season, honoring their seniors in a pregame ceremony with Homecoming serving as the backdrop for this late-season showdown.
