KANSAS CITY, Mo. – In the span of 24 hours, Cal State Dominguez Hills midfielder
Sulaiman Bah now has two All-America honors.
After being named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association's first-team All-America list on Wednesday, Bah heard his name called by the United Soccer Coaches, receiving the same honor Thursday.
For the coaches' association's award, Bah becomes the first Toro All-American since Joey Chica in 2017. He is the first first-team selection since Tony Alfaro in 2015.
Having played and started all 22 matches, Bah etched his name into the program's single-season record book when he tallied 18 goals and 12 assists for 48 points, breaking the later record of 46 set by JC Bolanos and Alex Bengard during the 2000 national championship season.
Bah also put his name into the CCAA's record book by being named Pixellot Offensive Player of the Week five times, by far the most in the conference's decorated history.
The sophomore from Sierra Leone joins an elite list of CCAA student-athletes on the All-America list. Cal Poly Pomona's Cesar Ruvalcaba and Cal State LA's Danny Garcia were named to the first team. On the second team are the Broncos' Melvyn Perez Cortez and Golden Eagles' Alvaro Unauna. LA's Bryan Ortega garnered a third-team All-America nod.
