Cameron Barry scored 16 points,
Andre Ball and
David Cheatom each had 13 and
Hunter Seymour contributed to 12, but the Cal State Dominguez Hills men's basketball team became victim of Western Washington's visits to the free throw line in a 94-69 loss at Simon Fraser Saturday.
The Vikings (2-0) ended the day going 27-for-32 on the free throw lane. Both teams were nearly matched in field goals made, with the Vikings making 29 to the Toros 28.
Western Washington had led the entire game. The Toros fell behind by eight early into the game and got its only lead with 13:15 left, when a
Jordan Hilstock 3-pointer gave them a 16-15 lead. The Vikings reverted the momentum back to their side and built a 13-point lead with five minutes to go in the first half. The Toros got to within five a different occasions but couldn't get any closer.
Dominguez Hills ended the day shooting 38.4 percent from the field and going 9-of-13 from the free throw line.
The Toros will return to the United States and step away from the GNAC for now and visit the PacWest Conference starting with Concordia on a rare Tuesday evening matchup. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
