Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | By Rick Hoskin

Cold Day at the Torodome as Toros Fall to Lumberjacks

CARSON – The Cal State Dominguez Hills men's basketball team had a rare off-night in shooting on their home floor while the opponent Humboldt State was the opposite as the 'Jacks ran away with a 66-45 win over the Toros to wrap up the week Saturday.

The Toros (8-7, 5-4 CCAA) ended the day shooting 15-of-60 from the field while the 'Jacks (10-6, 4-6 CCAA) went 26-for-64. Although both teams were even in the rebounding column with 45, the Toros did capitalize offensively with 11 boards off their own shots and scored 17 points.

Chris Seeley led the effort for Dominguez Hills, scoring 11 points and grabbing a dozen rebounds for a double-double. DJ Guest and Colten Kresl, who came off a 31-point night against Sonoma State Thursday, each had nine points against the 'Jacks.

Dominguez Hills had kept pace with Humboldt early for a majority of the first half. But the 'Jacks went on a 12-1 run in the span of 3:45 to build a 28-16 lead with 1:44 left in the half. Humboldt went into the locker room leading 31-20.

The Toros go back on the road but will stay in Southern California, starting with Cal Poly Pomona Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Due to Cal Poly Pomona policy, only student-athletes' guests will be admitted into Kellogg Arena. Per NCAA rule, the student-athlete may only have four (4) guests. As always, the game will be broadcast live on the CCAA Network.
