Connor Dreyer – WP, 4 IP, 7 SO, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB
WHAT HAPPENED?
- Much like game one of the series, the Toros (14-23, 13-22 CCAA) jumped on the board with
Pierson Loska hitting a sacrifice fly and Colacchio hitting a three-run jack to take a 4-0. It also gave him seven RBIs in the series.
- Starter
Drake Pingel got through four innings before turning it over to the bullpen. He struck out two but gave up two earned runs, seven hits and one walk.
-
Spencer Hereford tossed a shutout inning with two strikeouts, but the highlight from the pitching side was once again Dreyer, who pitched four innings for the second consecutive appearances. He came up two strikeouts short from matching his career-high nine strikeouts.
- Even though the first inning was the deciding factor, the Toros added a run in the fourth when
Kai Gomez singled in Greenfield and added two more in the seventh on Greenfield's double down the left field line to bring
Justin Morris and
Joe Canepa home.
- Chico starter William Curless struck out six in as many innings on the mound.

TOP PERFORMERS
Kai Gomez – 2-for-4, 2B, R
Joe Canepa – 1-for-2, BB, RBI
Jeremy Ciolek – 1-for-3, RBI
WHAT HAPPENED?
- The Toros had to recover from a four-run deficit after the Wildcats (18-15, 14-14 CCAA) scored two runs in the first and two more in the fourth. The three-run sixth-inning rally began with Gomez hitting a one-out double and both
Jose Jimenez and Loska getting hit by the pitch to load the bases. Canepa drew a walk to force in the first run,
Jeremy Ciolek followed with an RBI single and Colacchio traded an out for the Toros third run to make it a 4-3 deficit. The Wildcats stopped the bleeding by getting Greenfield to ground out and end the inning.
- Starter
Ian Codina got through five innings giving up three earned runs on seven hits and a walk but did strike out three along the way. Hereford and Kodi Koorndyk each pitched a shutout inning to keep the Toros close to the 'Cats.
- On the other side, Daniel Foret struck out six batters but exited during the sixth-inning threat.
