CARSON –
Angel Estrada had three RBI but the Cal State Dominguez Hills baseball team dropped two games to Cal State Monterey Bay Saturday. The Otters ran away with the lead in the late innings to take game one, 10-5, followed by the evening-cap 9-2.
The Toros fall to 11-18 overall, 10-17 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The Otters, meanwhile, elevate their record to 20-13 overall, 18-9 in conference play.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- After giving up two runs in the first and one in the third, the Toros' comeback began in the fifth, when
Kaelan Crisosto doubled and Estrada singled to score in a pair of runs. One inning later, Ciolek and Estrada each singled to combine for three RBI to give the Toros a 5-3.
- The lead didn't last long as the Otters quickly loaded the bases in the seventh and scored three to move back up front 6-5.

Drake Pingel shrugged off a rough first inning and went on to pitch into the seventh inning, striking out five while giving up eight batters on either hits and walks.
POSTGAME NOTES
- Three turned out to be the number of the day for Estrada, as it set career bests in both hits and RBI in the game.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- In what turned out to be his first start as a Toro,
Ian Codina went 3.1 innings striking out five but conceded three runs on five hits and three walks. He threw 81 pitches.
- The Toros struck first in the second inning. Ciolek hit a one-out single through the left side, took third on another hit by Colacchio and scored when
Grant Decatrel hit into a fielder's choice.
- The Otters, like game one, responded the next inning by scoring two runs to take a 2-1 lead.
- Down 3-1 in the fifth, the Toros did get to within one on the benefit of a two-out throwing error to first that allowed Gomez to score.
The game became out of the Toros reach in the seventh, when Monterey Bay put a six-spot on the board to take a 9-2 lead.
