SAN FRANCISCO - Cal State Dominguez Hills split a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) softball doubleheader against San Francisco State, Sunday at SFSU Softball Field. The Toros needed nine innings in game one and prevailed by a final score of 11-3. The Gators returned the favor in game two, handing CSUDH an 11-3 defeat in five innings. Combined with Saturday's results, the SFSU takes the four-game series 3-to-1.
 
The Toros now occupy the seventh slot in the CCAA standings with a 14-12 record, 16-13 overall. The Gators are now in sixth with a 13-11 league record, 16-11 overall. The top six teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the conference tournament.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- The Gators scored one run in the third and two in the fifth for a 3-0 lead. CSUDH could only get two hits in the first six innings.
- Down three runs in the top of the seventh, sophomore Chloe Wenger and junior Jade Loe each hit a single to put two runners on. Freshman Ashley Wies belted her first collegiate home run at the perfect time as she evened the score 3-3 and force extra innings.
- The Toros got eight runs in the ninth with RBI from junior Chenoa Au, senior Damari Simon, senior Jazmin Guzman, Wenger, senior Rachel Sandoval and Loe to put the game away for good.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- The Toros could not stop the Gators offense, allowing three runs in the third, one in the fourth and seven in the fifth.
- CSUDH got on the board first in the top of the third as a Simon sacrifice fly brought home junior Jessica Lane.
- The Toros scored twice in the fifth. Au hit a solo home run and Wenger knocked a sacrifice fly to get Lane to the plate.
