WHAT HAPPENED?
- The Toros got on the board first in the second inning when
Jeremy Ciolek doubled down the left field line and scored on Colacchio's base hit to center.
- Although the Toros scored two runs in the fourth, the difference in the game came in the fifth, when Loska belted a three-run jack, his third homer in two days, to give Dominguez Hills a 7-2 lead.
- Chiquito proved to be a key contributor to the Toros win, allowing only two runs in six innings of work.
- The bullpen took over in the sixth with
Ian Codina tossing a shutout inning. Although the combination of
Spencer Hereford and Conner Dreyer each conceded a run in the eighth and ninth inning, respectively, it was enough to hold the Cougars from making a comeback. Dreyer got out of the threat with runners at the corners.
