SAN MARCOS – The Cal State Dominguez Hills baseball team dropped two games to Cal State San Marcos in the finale of a four-game California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) series Sunday. The Toros dropped game one, 7-2, and the seven-inning game, 9-5.
The Toros fall to 2-6 overall and 1-6 in the conference.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- Trailing 3-0 after three, the Toros got to within one when Canepa belted a two-run shot to right field.
- The deficit was short lived as the Cougars (10-4, 6-2 CCAA) countered with two runs in their half of the fourth and added a run each in the next two innings.
- It was a rough outing for starter Kodi Koorndyk, who got through five innings but gave up six runs in the process.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- Unlike game one, the Toros jumped ahead with a 4-0 lead in the third inning. Decatrel led off with a double and eventually scored on
Jose Jimenez's base hit through the left side. The Toros would load the bases and score three more runs on
Jeremy Ciolek's walk,
Domenic Colacchio's sacrifice fly and
Kaelan Crisosto's RBI single to left center.
- Decatrel would lead off the fourth with a single and eventually scored on Loska's base hit through the left side, giving the Toros a 5-1 lead.
- The Cougars responded in the fourth in a big way, using five hits a two defensive miscues by the Toros to score eight runs, two earned, and take a 9-5 lead.
WHO'S NEXT?
The Toros make a return trip to Irvine for a single game with Concordia Tuesday. The final scheduled non-conference meeting between the two begins at 2 p.m.
