Lynda Nguyen reached for 19 digs as the Cal State Dominguez Hills volleyball team fell in three sets (19-25, 19-25, 18-25) to Cal State San Marcos at the Sports Center Friday night.
With the loss to the Cougars (15-8, 9-5 CCAA), along with UC San Diego upsetting No. 24 Cal State LA down the freeway at RIMAC Arena, the Toros (12-9, 5-9 CCAA) are mathematically out of California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Tournament contention.
The Toros had hit 11.8 percent on the attack. Their best performance was in the third set, when they went 12-for-35 with six errors. Dominguez Hills also collected seven total blocks.
Renee Wheeler was credited for two full blocks.
CSUDH wraps up its road portion of the 2019 season at UC San Diego Saturday, marking the final time the Toros visit RIMAC Arena as the Tritons will be bidding farewell to NCAA Division II this year and move to Division I and the Big West Conference in 2020. First serve is at 7 p.m.
