WHAT HAPPENED?
- Trailing by eight halfway through the second half, Howard changed the flow of the game to the Toros side when we scored all of the 15-0 run in 2:33 to give Dominguez Hills a 65-59 lead. The Coyotes could never recover from that momentum, having got to within three points on one time. The Toros would eventually hit 9-of-10 free throws in the final minute to keep the pressure on San Bernardino.
- The Toros shot nearly 51 percent (31-for-61) from the field, with 10 of those jumpers coming from the 3-point line. San Bernardino, meanwhile, shot 47.6 percent (30-for-63) around the perimeter.
- Dominguez Hills really showed discipline on the floor, committing only 12 personal fouls including four in the first half.
- The Coyotes relied on their bench as they scored 33 points. Dante Williams put 15 on the board to lead the team.
WHO'S NEXT?
It will be a busy week for Dominguez Hills as the spring semester starts Tuesday leading up to the Homecoming Game against crosstown Cal State LA Saturday at 3 p.m. The Toros rallied to an 89-86 win over the Golden Eagles in Los Angeles before the holiday break last month.
