CARSON – The Cal State Dominguez Hills volleyball team managed to force a four game but couldn't get to a deciding set as the Toros fell to UC San Diego (19-25, 18-25, 25-19, 19-25) at the Torodome Friday night.
The Toros drop to 9-15 overall and 4-12 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).

Marissa Weber – 14 digs, 5 kills
Esther Duru – 12 kills, 4 block assists
WHAT HAPPENED?
- The Toros had to recover from a blown lead after the Tritons scored 10 straight points to move up front 18-15. Dominguez Hills clinched the set win behind two kills from Yandall, one from Duru and benefit of seven Triton errors. Yandall finished with five kills in that round.
- UCSD, needing a win to at least stay alive in the CCAA Championship hunt for one more night, was led by Gina Cortesi and Cindy Tran, who each had a double-double performance.
- It was a cold evening for the Toros on the attack, hitting .067. Duru led the effort with a .214 attack percentage.
MATCH NOTES
- Weber came up just two digs short from tying her career best of 16 set at the Tritons last month.
