CARSON – It was a night of rallies on Senior Day for the Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State San Marcos volleyball teams, but the Toros' hopes of sending their graduating class with a win was spoiled by the Cougars in five sets (22-25, 26-24, 23-25, 26-24, 8-15) Saturday.
The Toros finish the 2018 season 9-16 overall and 4-13 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).

WHAT HAPPENED?
- The Toros began a rally from a six-point deficit in the opening set. They managed to get within 24-22 before the Cougars got the game-winning kill from Maddy Newcombe.
Tati Yandall finished with six kills in the set while
Lotte Braakhuis had three coming off the bench.
- Dominguez Hills got another chance to rally in the second game. Much like set one, the Toros trailed 21-17 and climbed their way to a 26-24 set win behind a pair of kills each from Yandall and Braakhuis.
- The Cougars returned the favor in the third round. San Marcos trailed by four and eventually scored six straight to take the set point.
- Set four was much different comparing to the first three. After the Cougars caught up to the Toros to tie it 18 points apiece, it was a see-saw battle for the lead up until the Toros won in extras 26-24.
- Despite the brilliant effort with 70 total digs, Dominguez Hills couldn't hold down San Marcos' .302 attack percentage. Olivia Aguilar and Micah Herbert each hit over .400 on the night.
