SAN RAFAEL – The Cal State Dominguez Hills men's basketball team ran out of time to erase a five-point deficit as Dominican edged the Toros 95-94 in non-conference action Wednesday evening. The Toros drop their record to 1-2.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- It came down to the final minute of the game when the Penguins (2-1) made 5-of-6 free throws to keep the pressure on the Toros. Hicks did get the final shot – a 3-pointer – at the final buzzer.
- Neither team had a double-digit lead. Dominican's largest lead was 88-80 with 2:14 left. The Toros led by as many as five mid-way through the first period.
- Dominguez Hills did capitalized on Dominican's 21 turnovers, producing 30 points off those mistakes.
- The Toros finished the night shooting nearly 55 percent from the field, marking the first time on the young season they have reached the half-century mark.
- Dominican's Cedric Thomas had the best performance on the night, scoring 26 points including a perfect 12-for-12 on the free throw line.
- In addition to scoring 10 points,
Isaiah Morris collected five steals.

The Toros won't return to action until after Thanksgiving, when they travel to the campus of Montana State Billings to play the Yellowjackets November 23 at 6:30 p.m. PST.
