HONOLULU – Freshman Colten Kresl scored a season-high 30 points, Malcolm Johnson dropped in 14 and added 12 rebounds for a double-double, and Cal State Dominguez Hills' men's basketball team used an extra period to walk out with a 77-73 win over host Hawai`i Pacific Wednesday evening.

Mikey Hatfield was also a major contributor to the win, scoring 12 points, getting eight rebounds and being credited for three assists in 41 minutes played.
After getting only 11 free throw opportunities in regulation, it became a deciding factor in overtime as the Toros (2-4) made 12-of-14.
The Toros had trailed by as many as nine (40-39) with 13:44 remaining in the second period. A 12-3 run and a 14-2 momentum in different points of the second half enabled the Toros to get back into the game.
Kresl had a strong performance in the first period, collecting 14 points with four of his five field goals coming from beyond the arc.
Overall the Toros shot 33 percent from the field, the Sharks (3-2) shot 37 percent.
HPU's leading scorer Niksha Federico scored 26 points but was fouled out with 2:21 left in overtime.
After they enjoy Thanksgiving, the Toros get back into action Friday against Adams State. Tipoff is at 7:45 p.m. PST.
