RIVERSIDE - The fifth-seeded Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer team will face second-ranked and first-seeded California Baptist in the NCAA Championship Second Round on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. . The Lancers are recipients of a first-round bye and are the hosts. The Toros took down Cal State LA in the first round on Thursday.

CSUDH NCAA Tournament history
• The Toros are making their 15th appearance at the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship, their second since 2015.
• The Toros are 18-9-3 (.638) in the NCAA postseason, 18-8-3 under 24th-year head coach
Joe Flanagan. CSUDH's first NCAA tournament appearance was in 1982.
• The Toros have won two NCAA national titles (2000, 2008) and five West Region crowns (2000-01, 2005, 2008, 2009).
• CSUDH's last appearance at the NCAA Championship was in 2015. The Toros defeated No. 10 Fresno Pacific 3-2 in the first round and got past No. 7 Seattle Pacific in penalty kicks, 3-2. CSUDH was defeated by Cal Poly Pomona, 2-1, in the West Region finals.
About California Baptist
• The Lancers are ranked second in the latest national rankings, seeded first in the west and enter the game with an unbeaten 16-0-2 record. Their only draws were against Sonoma State and Notre Dame de Namur.
• The Lancers earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament by winning the PacWest Conference with a 12-0-1 record.
• Aidan Apodaca leads CBU with a national-best 27 goals. Hugo Gutierrez is the Lancer's assist leader with 10 on the year. Edgar Benitez is the primary goalkeeper for CBU and has amassed eight shutouts with a 0.6 goals-against average.

Joey Chica is also a member of the Lancers and has compiled five goals and seven assists.
• Head coach Coe Michaelson is in his second season at the helm.
A Quick Look at the Season
• The Toros took home the CCAA regular season title with a 9-2-1 conference record. It is the second CCAA regular season title for the Toros since 2015 and 10th overall.
• CSUDH has played four ranked opponents, going 3-0-1. The Toros defeated No. 11 Cal Poly Pomona, 1-0, on Sept. 15 to start conference play, No. 25 Cal State LA, 3-2, on Oct. 11 and No. 18 Cal State LA, 1-0, in the NCAA Championship First Round. CSUDH earned a draw against No. 2 Simon Fraser on Sept. 30.
• The Toros went 3-2-1 in non-conference action. CSUDH defeated Point Loma 1-0 in the season opener, Azusa Pacific 4-3 in overtime and Fresno Pacific 2-0. The Toros fell 4-1 to Cal State LA in a road matchup and had a 0-0 double overtime draw against No. 2 Simon Fraser.

Leonardo Nogueira, Carlos Escobedo and Adam Vargas were named to the 2017 All- CCAA teams. Nogueira and Escobedo were placed on the first team, while Vargas took home second team honors. Additionally

• As the first seed, CSUDH received a first-round bye at the CCAA Tournament. The Toros were eliminated by Cal State LA in penalty kicks, 4-3. The match officially was recorded as a 1-1 draw, but needed a winner to move on to the next round.
• Fifth-seeded CSUDH took down 18th-ranked and fourth-seeded Cal State LA, 1-0, in the NCAA Championship First Round. Adam Vargas was responsible for the game-winning goal as he rifled one from 25-yards out in the 59th minute.
