Men's Basketball Preview: The Bigger, the Better

CARSON -- Head coach Steve Becker's future for the Cal State Dominguez Hills' 2016-17 men's basketball season is looking up ... literally.  Armed with five Toros who stand at least 6-7, this squad comprises one of the biggest rosters in program history, and Becker intends to take full advantage of their size.

Led by All-CCAA selections in senior forward Justin Sadler and senior guard Vincent Golson, the Toros will look to finish above .500 for the first time since the 2012-13 campaign, and claim its first CCAA title since 2010-11 when CSUDH downed No. 3 Humboldt State in the tournament title game en route to setting a program record with 23 wins.

Although last season saw the Toros post a 10-17 overall mark, CSUDH showed flashes of brilliance after taking down eventual CCAA Champion Humboldt State in overtime before disposing of No. 5 Cal Poly Pomona one night later.

Golson ended his first season in Cardinal and Gold averaging 15.3 points and 4.6 assists per contest, while Sadler shot .563 from the field and posted 12.5 point and 7.8 rebound per game averages.

With the duo bolstered by 11 talented newcomers that include a pair of Division I transfers in brothers Khaliq (Yale) and and Khalil Ghani (USD), CSUDH is looking to regain its position in the top half of the CCAA conference.
