Baseball Debuts at No. 8 in First NCAA Region Poll

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Coming off a four-game sweep of Sonoma State last weekend, the Cal State Dominguez Hills baseball team debuted at No. 8 in the first NCAA West Region poll of the year, it was announced by the NCAA.

The rankings make this weekend even more important as the Toros travel to Cal State Monterey Bay in the penultimate CCAA series of the year, with the Otters ranked No. 7 and both teams looking to break into the top 6 to qualify for the NCAA postseason.

The Toros were led in the sweep by Brady Conlan, who drove in eight runs in the series, as well as the pitching of starters Kevin Brown and TyRay Gatewood, who both tossed complete games in Saturday's doubleheader, as well as closer Kevin Lenik, who picked up two saves in the series..
