Huge Second Half Pushes LMU Past Toros in Exhibition Contest

LOS ANGELES -- Led by nine of Justin Sadler's team-high 22 points scored in the first half, Cal State Dominguez Hills hung tough with Division I Loyola Marymount University via a 40-30 deficit after 20 minutes of play, but the Lions turned it on after the break, outscoring the Toros by 24 points to run away with a 92-58 exhibition win in Gersten Pavilion.

CSUDH connected on 44% of its shots in a productive first half that included 6-of-8 from the foul line, but LMU's defense after the break, coupled with the Toros going cold from the field, limited the visitor's offensive production en route to shooting less than 30% from the field.

Shaquille Hunter added 13 points and Ivan Dooley 11, but LMU's Brandon Brown was unstoppable as he drained 11-of-17 from the floor for a game-high 26 points as the Lions shot 52.3% from the floor for the game, including a solid 85% from the charity stripe.

Sadler also pulled down a team-high 10 boards and nailed all six of his foul shots, with his rebound total matching Petr Herman for game-high totals.

CSUDH kicks off its schedule on Friday, November 13, at Cal Baptist in game one of the two-day PacWest/CCAA Challenge, with first tip set for 7 pm in Riverside.
