Coyotes Run Wild Over Toros in 88-66 Decision

SAN BERNARDINO -- Cal State Dominguez Hills suffered its second blowout loss in three nights after host and perennial power CS San Bernardino took an 88-66 win over the Cardinal and Gold, despite a monster 31-point performance by Ivan Dooley.

CSUDH remains winless in league play at 0-6, falling to 4-8 overall.

The Toros continued to shoot fairly well from the field to start, hitting 43.5% of their attempts.  CSUDH, however, hit four less field goals in the frame while the Yotes connected for six more triples to take a 41-25 lead entering the break.

After intermission, it was more of the same as the Yotes built a 28-point lead at 63-35 after a Jacob Thomas 3-pointer with 11:44 left in regulation, with Dooley's 16 points in the second half keeping CSUSB's lead hovering in the 20s.

The Toros finally found their range from downtown with five makes, with two coming from Dooley and Tyler Payne each, but it was too little, too late as the Yotes cruised to the 22-point win.

Payne dropped home eight points in the loss to finish behind Dooley, while five Coyotes topped the 10-point plateau, led by Thomas' 22 and Isaiah Morton's 17 points.

CSUDH continues CCAA action on the road next weekend, starting with a Friday night affair at Cal State East Bay.
