Triton Pitching Shines Again in 7-0 Win Over Toros

Box Score

LA JOLLA -- Host UC San Diego received another stellar pitching performance tonight at Triton Ballpark, and the result was a 7-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills to take a two-games-to-none series lead.

Tyler Mark suffered the loss as CSUDH notched just five hits on the day as the Toros fall to 9-7, 4-5 CCAA.

Much like yesterday, the Tritons scored in the second inning.  But unlike yesterday's single run, UCSD put up five to take control of the contest early.

Triton starter Trevor Scott went 6.0 innings and scattered four hits to pick up the win, fanning six against just two walks while making 107 pitches.

Five different Toros collected a hit each in the loss, with the Tritons collecting three hits in the big inning, capitalizing on three base on balls and a Toro error.

The two teams will wrap up their four-game set tomorrow morning in Carson for a double-header, with first pitch of game one set for 11 am as the Toros help raise awareness with their "Think Pink" day.
