David Steininger Named CCAA Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK – Cal State Dominguez Hills senior David Steininger has been selected the California Collegiate Athletic Association Baseball Player of the Week for the week of February 17-23.

This Steininger's first-career CCAA POW honor.

The senior from Moreno Valley boasted a .615 batting average, a .667 on-base percentage, and a .692 slugging percentage to lead the Toros to three wins over Cal State San Bernardino last weekend.

Steininger had eight hits in 13 at-bats on the weekend with six runs scored and three RBI. He earned a hit in all three games played, including multi-hit efforts in two, while also drawing two walks and stealing four bases.

The Toros continue CCAA play this week hosting No. 15 Cal Poly Pomona for a Thursday morning double-header, with game one's start time to be announced soon.
