Toros Win Suspended Game Before Taking Twinbill Opener at CS San Bernardino

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3

SAN BERNARDINO -- Cal State Dominguez Hills resumed yesterday's suspended game against CS San Bernardino and turned a 10-7 advantage into an eventual 11-8 win, before Aaron Gray (pictured) with the win and Bubby Rossman with the save teamed up on the hill to lead CSUDH to an 8-6 win in the twinbill opener.

The Coyotes salvaged the final game of the series, however, with a 10-2 win as CSUDH took three of four in the series to improve to 8-3, 3-1 CCAA.

To conclude the suspended game, the Toros held a 10-7 lead in the top of the 8th, but saw the Yotes plate its second run of the frame on an infield single, only to have the Toros score in their 8th-inning at-bat on a David Steininger RBI single to left center.

Nick Wagner then closed the door on the Yotes, surviving a two-on, two-out rally in the 9th to preserve the win for Joseph Perez, who tossed 1.1 innings the day before.

In game one of the scheduled twinbill, the Toros plated a pair of runs in their first two at-bats before the Yotes tied the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the 7th inning.

CSUDH, however, put three across in the 9th inning on an Adrian Guzman RBI fielder's choice, a Yote miscue and a Danny Matienzo RBI single to right.

Rossman then preserved the win with two-thirds of an inning in relief of Gray as Rossman induced a pair of fly outs for the save.

The 7-inning nightcap was all CSUSB as the hosts scored six in the 1st and two in the 2nd en route to the 10-2 final, as Peter Ives talied a pair of hits with Gray and Kamran Young driving home the Toro runs.

CSUDH will resume CCAA action on Thursday on Toro Field against Cal Poly Pomona, following tomorrow's exhibition contest against Japan Railway Express, set for a 12 noon first pitch.
